Terms & Conditions
The rules a booking with World Private Chefs is made under. They are the same ones set out across the site, gathered in one place.
Last updated: 17 August 2026
The short version
Who these terms are between
They are between World Private Chefs and the person making the booking. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, a family, a household or a company, you confirm you are entitled to do so and you accept these terms for them as well as for yourself. You need to be eighteen or over to make a booking.
What the service includes
A private chef, and where booked butlers and bartenders, coming to the property where you are staying to prepare and serve a meal. The service runs end to end: we source the ingredients, cook, serve, and leave the kitchen as we found it.
We work in private homes, villas, chalets and private residences. We do not provide the venue, the furniture or the tableware unless it has been agreed in writing as part of your booking.
How a booking is made
- Your enquiry is not a booking. The form on this site opens a WhatsApp message. Sending it starts a conversation and holds nothing.
- We confirm in writing. A booking exists when we have confirmed the date, the destination, the number of guests, the menu and the price to you in writing, and you have accepted it.
- Notice. We ask for a minimum of 72 hours so that we can source the ingredients properly and secure your chef. In high season, considerably more is wise; availability is not guaranteed until confirmed.
- Changes. Tell us as early as you can. We will do what we can to accommodate a change of date, guest count or menu, but a change close to the service may not be possible and may affect the price.
Number of guests
Bookings are priced from 8 guests. Smaller parties are welcome and are billed at the 8-guest rate.
Tell us the final number as early as you can. Ingredients are bought for the number confirmed, so guests added at the last minute may not be possible, and guests who do not turn up are still part of what was purchased and prepared.
Allergies and dietary requirements
Our chefs regularly prepare vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, halal, keto and allergy-specific menus. Tell us what is needed when you book, and tell us for every guest it applies to.
We cannot be responsible for a reaction to something we were not told about, or for ingredients brought into the property by anyone other than us.
Ingredients and price
The chef handles all the grocery shopping, using fresh local and seasonal produce. The cost of the ingredients is billed separately at cost price, on top of the service fee. Anything that requires a rare or particularly expensive ingredient will be discussed with you before it is bought.
Quoted prices cover what the quote describes. Travel outside the areas listed for a destination, additional staff, extra services and unusually long service hours are quoted separately. Menus and prices shown on this site are indicative: your booking is governed by the quote we confirm to you.
What we need from the property
We need access to a working kitchen at the agreed time, with power, running water and enough space to cook for the number of guests booked. Please make sure whoever controls access to the property knows we are coming.
If we cannot get in at the agreed time, or the kitchen is unusable, we will do our best to still deliver the meal, but time lost is time lost and in the worst case the service may be treated as a late cancellation.
Cancellations and refunds
The fee exists because ingredients for a confirmed booking are bought in advance and a chef's day is held for you and turned down to others. Where we have already bought produce for your menu, its cost forms part of what is due.
If we have to cancel. If something on our side makes the service impossible, we will tell you immediately, offer you an alternative chef or date where we can, and refund in full anything you have paid for a service that does not happen.
Circumstances beyond either of us. Neither side is liable for failing to perform because of something genuinely outside its control, such as severe weather, a natural disaster, a strike, or an official restriction. In that situation we will look for a new date together, and refund what has not been spent.
Our staff
Our chefs and staff are entitled to a safe and respectful working environment. We reserve the right to end a service, without refund, in the face of threatening, abusive or discriminatory behaviour towards anyone working on your booking.
Liability
We are responsible for delivering the service we agreed with reasonable care and skill, and for what the law does not permit us to exclude. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Beyond that, our liability in relation to a booking is limited to the amount paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for the condition or equipment of a property we do not own or control.
This website
The text, photographs, menus and design on this site belong to World Private Chefs or are used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our agreement. We keep the site as accurate as we can, but availability, menus and prices change; nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance until we confirm your booking.
How the site handles your information is covered by our privacy policy and our cookie policy.
Changes, and the rest
These terms apply as they stood on the day your booking was confirmed; changing them here does not change a booking already agreed. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
If something goes wrong, tell us first at info@worldprivatechefs.com. Most problems are solved faster in a conversation than anywhere else. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the consumer law of your country of residence gives you.
